Hormone therapy for women, guided by blood work

Levels checked first, treatment tailored to your labs and symptoms, and repeat blood work every three months.

Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone sit in a fairly delicate balance, and menopause is not the only thing that disrupts it: stress, thyroid disease and other medical conditions do too. When that balance shifts, the symptoms rarely announce themselves as hormonal. They show up as sleep that no longer restores you, a temper with a shorter fuse, weight that will not move, and a memory that feels one step behind.

Pulse treats this as a medical problem with a measurable baseline. We check your hormone levels first: to determine what level of replacement you need, or whether you need it at all. We would rather tell you that your labs are fine than sell you a therapy you do not require.

Signs that hormone therapy may be worth investigating

  • Hair thinning or hair loss
  • Temperature regulation problems, including hot flashes and night sweats
  • Loss of collagen and elasticity: sagging, wrinkles and other skin changes
  • Metabolism fluctuations that drive weight gain
  • Loss of bone density, increasing osteoporosis and fracture risk
  • Sleep disturbance: difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep
  • Memory problems, reduced focus and decreased performance at work
  • Mood fluctuation, difficulty handling stress, emotional outbursts
  • Lower sex drive, and the strain that places on relationships and confidence

How we build your plan

Women have their own set of issues when it comes to hormone imbalance, and the plan is tailored per person: to the deficiencies found in your blood work, and to the specific symptoms you came in with.

Preparations may include creams or other topicals, oral options and injectables. Your provider will explain the practical trade-offs of each and tailor the plan to your needs.

What restoring balance can change

  • Improvement or elimination of menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and itching, and painful intercourse
  • Enhanced energy, mood, memory and concentration
  • Improved sex drive and comfort during intercourse
  • Enhanced fat loss and muscle tone
  • Improved protection of bone against osteoporosis
  • Improved sleep
  • Improvement in hair thinning or hair loss when hormones are a contributing factor
  • Reduction in risk of heart attack

What to expect at your appointments

At each monthly hormone therapy visit we discuss your symptoms and how you are responding to treatment. Dosages may be adjusted based on symptoms alone, but we do not rely on symptoms in isolation.

Follow-up blood work every three months confirms that you are being treated appropriately and safely. Medication adjustments are made against those results, with the goal of keeping you at optimal levels: balanced, not simply high.

Hormone therapy alongside the rest of your care

Hormone status touches weight, skin quality and energy, so patients often address several things at once. If weight is the primary concern, hormone evaluation and medical weight loss frequently run in parallel. If skin laxity and collagen loss are the visible complaint, treatments like NOUVADerm or microneedling address the surface while therapy addresses the underlying driver.

Common questions

Do I need a referral for hormone therapy?
No referral is necessary. Call (918) 322-7400, message us on Facebook, or submit a consultation request and our team will contact you to schedule.
How soon will I feel different?
It varies by symptom, delivery method and starting labs. Your provider will set expectations at your first visit and reassess at your three-month follow-up blood work.
What if my labs come back normal?
Then we tell you so. We do not want you paying for hormone therapy you do not need, and there are often other explanations worth investigating.

Start with a consultation, not a commitment.
